Little Antietam Project – Bespoke farmhouse cabinets designed and installed in kitchen and mudroom.

The Little Antietam project cabinets were part of a historic farmhouse remodel in Hagerstown MD. This kitchen boasts classic, sophisticated style with modern day accessories and appliances throughout. The custom kitchen and mudroom design was modeled after classic English farmhouse style featuring a bespoke larder and large custom-built rift white oak island/prep table.  Other features include a large appliance and baking center cabinet resting on the countertop, flush inset cabinets with straight furniture feet, custom mantle over the range, and unlacquered brass handles. One challenge of the project was the island design. The homeowner wanted the island to make a statement in size and appearance while allowing enough walkway on all sides and seating for 5. This was accomplished by designing the island to be more of a prep table with custom legs, and open space to the floor. This allowed it to be large enough to be a functional workspace while not taking away from the overall feel of the kitchen. Lastly the cabinets were painted to match Farrow and Ball’s “Treron” which is a beautiful farmhouse green lending perfectly to this classic farmhouse.
